must-have for survival?

Out of the blue, a friend of mine asked me the following question:

If you had to live on an island and could only request one thing from outside that island for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

i think i could live with nothing but nature. you know, i have been active in scouting when i was in school, and i have learned quite a few things on survival. so my answer to this question would be something that would give me hope of being discovered, that somehow i'll be in touch with the world again. i believe that "with all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world." eventhough i seem to have become so weary of life/world/people, i can't still deny the fact that i can't live without getting out there and being with people who are basically humans just like me.

being in an island with nothing, that i can deal with. but not for long i guess, if i can no longer imagine myself in the company of people, especially those whom i cherished the most.
