明けましておめでとう!

Happy New Year!

I was kinda bothered last week to spend my new year and my holidays here in Japan. You know, last Wednesday, the announcement was made in the office that we can have our holidays for a longer period of time. It is now from December 30 - Jan 4, we will resume work on Friday, January 5. But January 8, Monday, is a holiday here in Japan, so meaning, it could have been OK to take the day-off and return home and stay for at least a week. But after making some calls to the PAL ticketing office, and about getting a re-entry permit, I gave up and settled to settle here in Osaka for the holidays. I envy some of my friends who were going home to their respective countries, and would be able to visit the life they left. :(

Anyway, I think I have had enough of the drama and I promise myself for this new year to live life as it is and not be too concerned of what could have been. :) New Year's Eve falling on a Sunday helped! Spending time at the OIC is really one of those things that I keep looking forward to. It's a place where I can communicate well and share stories with people coming from different countries, and of course with the ever cheerful and fun-loving Filipinos living/working here in Osaka. (No, for goodness' sake, OIC is NOT a Mormon church...)

After the service, Ate Cheng, invited us to her house and HORA! the food she prepared were really great. :) We stayed there for hours and went together all as a group to a countdown party for the new year in Namba. The countdown party was not what I expected to be like but it was also fun, and it was a good friend of Ate Cheng who performed for that night. :)

My new found friend, Misato, has a "famous" friend who was performing that night and so we went out and met her and watched her performance... She is famous, hmmm.. I really don't know how famous she is, but she appears in TV commercials here in Japan, and she is very very pretty with that innocent and angelic face. The place where she performs was packed with foreigners, but they all seemed nice, and friendly.. :) They had a DJ in the house spinning music that could get everyone in the mood for the dance floor. Obviously, I was one of those people who danced through the night. (Err, don't worry guys, wholesome pa naman ang image ko... heheh)

The night was long, we got back to our apartment, around 6:30 AM.

Happy New Year and best wishes everyone!
