prayers

a very close friend of mine is currently trapped in a web of chaos and stress caused by the people she is working with. i am scared she might eventually leave japan much sooner than we planned. huhuh...

working in japan isn't really as glittery as most people think it to be. i could say that i am lucky with sanyo. i have been working there for the past four months already but i have not found anything to complain yet. the people don't have pretenses, and they really work to please their clients and not their egos. they want to be the best and they are passionate about their work. i like it there kasi pag trabaho, trabaho lang talaga. not like sa ibang kompanya, i am not pressured to do small talk which i really hate. they even made me feel like i am a valuable part of the team, not just a resource to be used. they are just different. basin exception sa japanese work culture. i really pray that they will renew my contract this coming autumn.

but without my core friends here, mahirapppppuuuu... siguro mapapaisip din akong umuwi na rin lang and hindi na irenew ang contract ko rito. i pray that my friend would be able to get through this unscathed. i am praying that she'll stay as planned, para sa katuparan ng mga pangarap. hahay, sabay na lang tayo aalis beh.... no more iwanan ba. for sure, mag-what is life na sad ang questions ani inig hawa.

bitaw, i don't want to add na sa pressure. prayers na lang for guidance, enlightenment and strength.

Linda

she left today and i've got this song (nope, i didn't write this one) for her and for everything that we shared from day 1 to the last hour when we said goodbyes at the airport.

It's Just Goodbye

The sweetest songs, fade to echoes in the wind
The best of times must end, so a new day can begin
And the dreams we dream that seem so real at night
Must meet the morning light, and vanish from our sight

It's just goodbye
Remember, time was never our friend
We walked the road together, we came to the end
It's just goodbye
Now I won't tell you not to cry
But I swear that what we had won't die
Cause it isn't over, it's just goodbye

I close my eyes, and I still can see your face
I know the truth of us, can't be bound by time or space
And the joy we shared, the magic that we've known
Is something that we own, though we may be alone

It's just goodbye
Remember, time was never our friend
We walked the road together, we came to the end
It's just goodbye
Now I won't tell you not to cry
But I swear that what we had won't die
Cause it isn't over, it's just goodbye

It's just goodbye
It doesn't really matter why
I know what we had, can never die
Cause I'll always love you
Yes I'll always love you, so it's just goodbye

a sight of royalty

I saw the emperor of Japan today with the empress right by his side waving at me. Oh, oh, that could be misleading! He was actually waving at all the people on the street waiting for them to pass by. These royalties (and all the athletics people of the world) are here in Osaka for the 11th IAAF World Championships in Athletics 2007 which officially commenced today. Luckily, I was at that exact time and place. Life is full of "little" surprises indeed. All I wanted was to spend an afternoon outside work and outside my apartment (to save on the airconditioning! heheh), but it turned out more than that. Thank God, Osaka still has a lot to offer. I checked out the Osaka Prefecture Main Library, and the old buildings in that area and went to the Osaka Science Museum. Here is a sample of what I saw: a rare piece of architecture here in the city.

I even saw some of the athletes from Italy and Cuba. Oh they look "world-class"! heheh. Thanks to a friend for the company and for making me feel positive of japan and life in general once again. I reckon that what's more important than the place itself is really the people that we meet and keep as friends.

Inspired

i found Lea Salonga's personal blog. (check out my sidebar for the link)

oh yeah, i'm a big fan. other than being the most celebrated filipino artist in the world, she has always been someone to look up to for everything that she represents... a wonderful reminder that all the things that i've already achieved is never an enough reason for me to give up and sit on my laurels (a mere assumption of possession)... an inspiration to strive for more and to do the things that i am passionate about.

yeah, great things can come from an unknown country like ours too.
keep on shining Lea ...

(ha? maayo man iya english uy... grrr... kasuya sad..., me i can only manage 4 up to now...) sa akong mga nadunggan, kamao sya mo-german, mo-italian, french, portuguese, spanish, polish, english, of course nihongo, and unsa pa dira nga language naa sa western europe. cool no?

giunsa man ni niya? he was all over europe for a long period of time. siguro mas dugay pa sya nag-stay didto kaysa sa japan... heheh.. mao sad siguro na nga dili gyud sya ordinary nga japanese. i mean ang iyahang thinking, or the way nga mo-deal sya sa mga tao ug sa sitwasyon, lahi kaysa sa regular na hapon. i think ang iya nahibal-an is way beyond what i think i could learn in my lifetime. ingon ana man gyud sya ka well-experienced in different places pa gyud.

but after all the "cool" places na iya naadtuan, para sa iyaha ang pinakagwapa daw ay mga pinay. ang iyang pangasawahon is pinay gyud daw. mao if ever naay gustong magminyo na dira, send your resume, i-refer ta mo! wahahahh!!!
